Saludos Hispanos

S A L U D O S H I S P A N O S The National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ) has honored both Cecilia Vega and Tom Llamas from ABC and NBC News, with the NAHJ Presidential Award of Impact. Both recipients have recently made major career moves. Earlier this year, ABC News named senior national correspondent Vega to be the network’s new chief White House correspondent. The historic promotion makes her the first Latina to serve in this position for an English language network. Emmy award-winner Vega will also continue her role as Saturday night anchor of ABC News "World News Tonight". Her work can be seen on all ABC News platforms, including “World News Tonight with David Muir,” "Nightline" and "20/20." She also often co-anchors "Good Morning America” from New York. Tom Llamas has left the ABC Sunday news anchor desk where he has been since 2015 and is now at NBC where he has been named senior national correspondent and anchor of a new program “Top Story With Tom Llamas.” The Emmy award-winning journalist’s new one-hour program will air on the network, is on-demand and also streams live at 7 p.m. weekdays on NBC News NOW, the NBCUniversal-backed news operation’s streaming-video outlet. Its debut is the latest sign of NBC’s growing commitment to streaming. Llamas wants to give his viewers a sense of the breadth of the company’s newsgathering efforts, utilizing resources, reports and correspondents from across NBC News, MSNBC, CNBC, Sky News and Telemundo. He will often rely on that last media outlet to help his devote time each day to a segment called “The Americas,” which will focus on Latin America as well as issue of New Assignments for NAHJ Award Winning Hispanic Journalists Cecilia Vega and Tom Llamas
